Botox.

  • Botox is an injectable neuromodulator that temporarily weakens muscular contraction. When injected in the right direction of force (the vector) of each muscle, Botox can help soften wrinkles, accentuate your features, and much more.

  • Botox is used mostly for lines noted in upper face: forehead/horizontal lines, frown lines, and crow’s feet.

However, it can also soften lines in lower face: lip lines, lip flip, marionette lines and chin lines.

  • Consult time: 45 to 60 minutes

Treatment time: 15 to 30 minutes

  • Any injection can cause swelling, redness, bruising, mild to moderate headache, and sensations such as tingling or mild itching. These effects are common; they can be considered as a normal part of the process.

  • Remain upright for 2 hours.

Perform small contractions of the treated muscles every 20 minutes for the first hour.

When cleansing, avoid pressure. Use gentle strokes away from the eyes.

Avoid facial massages or electrical stimulation for the next 2 weeks.

Avoid wearing tight caps or garments in the injected areas.

Avoid alcohol beverages and any exposure to UV and extreme heat (i.e. sauna, steam, sun beds, hot showers, strenuous exercise).

Do not apply make-up for approximately 6 hours unless it is mineral based.

  • The initial effects of the treatment will show in the first 2-5 days. Peak effect on the muscle is at 14 days, but the result will continue to improve for 4 weeks or more. The benefits start to wear off after 3-4 months on average.
