  • Sculptra is the first injectable collagen stimulator containing microparticles of poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA-SCA). Sculptra helps stimulate your OWN natural collagen production to restore facial structure and provide longer-lasting results. As this injectable depends on your own collagen production, results are not immediate and may take up to 6 months to see the peak effect. Sculptra is biodegradable - and the product is broken down and excreted by the body. But the benefits can last up to 4 years.

  • The main difference between Sculptra and hyaluronic acid (HA) based fillers is that Sculptra stimulates your own collagen production - that may replace lost collagen for up to 2-3 years, a more natural treatment to restore your looks. But is not intended to augment shapes (not ideal for lip, nose, and chin area).

    Results are shown over a period of time and a series of treatments. Results typically last 2-4 years and it cannot be dissolved. You will also need to massage the treated area to evenly distribute Sculptra - known as 5-5-5 Massage, massage the injected area for 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 days in a row.

  • On average, you will have 1-3 treatment sessions over the course of a few months. The number of injections at each session will vary based on the treatment plan.

  • As soon as 1 month, with sustained results for up to 2 years. Typical treatment is 2-3 sessions spaced at least 3 to 4 weeks apart.

  • Sculptra is used to correct shallow-to-deep wrinkle and folds the face. Can be used to help with cheek wrinkles, nasolabial folds/smile lines, marionette lines, and temple hollowing).

  • The healing process involves swelling and bruising for about 3-10 days depending on the amount injected, area injected, and how your body reacts to the procedure.

    Due to the anesthetic in the filler, you may feel numbness or tingling immediately after the procedure. You may have some moderate swelling, redness, bruising and tenderness over the treated areas. Some people experience dull ache and tenderness over the treated ares which subsides over 48-72 hours.

    Mild, non-painful swelling can last for up to 2 weeks. Bruising is usually visible initially, which then becomes more obvious the following day before slowly fading over 7 to 14 days. Some bruises can last for 4-6 weeks.

    Side effects reported include injection site pain, redness, bruising, tenderness, itching and lumps, bleeding and swelling. Small bumps under the skin can sometimes be noticeable when pressing on the treated area (rarely).

    Please give yourself a minimum of 2 weeks before going to any major events or vacation in case of the residual bruising and swelling.

  • For 48 hours, you should avoid exposure to UV light and heat (sauna, steam, sun beds, hot showers, strenuous exercise etc) as this may increased discomfort and swelling.

    Keep the area cool with a cold compress, but don’t apply ice which can cause injury.

    Try to avoid unnecessary pressure over any areas treated, especially in the first 48 hours.

    Reduce the risk of infection and reaction by not touching the area for 6 hours.

    Do not apply make-up over injection points until the day after the procedure.

  • Results typically last 2-4 years. Typical/initial treatment is 2-3 sessions spaced at least 3 to 4 weeks apart. Annual maintenance treatment 1 session.
